Darryle West was elected to the office of 1st Vice President in June 2005. Mr. West began his career at the Chicago Transit Authority in 1986 as a full time bus operator at the then 69th Street Garage.

Darryle West was encouraged and mentored by former union leaders such as Leonard Morris, Charles (Chuck) Johnson, Robert Clay and Jackie Breckenridge. He sought and won the office of Executive Board Member for the operators at 74th Street Garage in 1999. Since that time, Mr. West has clearly not only lived up to the expectations of his mentors but has long exceeded their expectations. Mr. West works tirelessly with this membership in mind and close to his heart.
